How do we go about private messaging each other or viewing profiles?
Thats what seems to be lacking most.
What about adding smilies or text formatting?
The biggest thing to know is we can keep updating and changing things better while the site's live now. For instance, I'm probably going to style these forum comments a little differently (the date's just sort of awkwardly floating there)
I'm still happy about the reply system being on the same page.
yeah. I can add smilies
I'll try to find a way for everyone to use them without granting everyone the ability to use full html in there posts (not that I don't trust you, but that could get ugly)
Also, I upped the difficulty on the CAPTCHA module, it needs to be case sensitive now, and I've set it up to log wrong answers so... that should help. If it doesn't I've found another solution someone came up with which might work as well.
I've tried to put together a trick list before. I have a few random drafts somewhere. The hard part is organizing it into groups that gets every trick. Plus there are so many variations. 360-900 ulbs that can also be done in switch lol. Try doing that for 200 something tricks lol.
I've thought about the Trick Database for a while and still don't know how I feel about it. In terms of whether or not it's useful... I mean it is usefuly but the hard part is where to draw the line seeing as there are so many variations.
User profiles can exist - they're just not set up yet and probably wont be for at least a week (I'm working on editing a video)
Word filters aren't going to happen.
A chat may happen at some point. I like the idea, there was one way way back in the day and it saw a decent amount of traffic. I haven't looked into it for a drupal site, but I will. After user profiles.
gow bout on the chat theres different catagories? like one for discussing pogoing, one for everything, and on for randomness? that would keep the traffic down in each one, and you could have instant trick help and stuff.
The only thing that I liked from your reasoning, the Trick Database, instant messaging is not needed, engage the most important. When I started to jump Trick Database I really did not have enough! =)
so I think that the website needs
A chat, i know it's not completely necessary but i think that it would be easy to find a service to embed a chat on the page like this http://gabbly.com/http://xpogo.com/
and a trick database, I really think we need a legit trick database, I would be willing to help make one, but there is really no good place to see all xpogo tricks and videos next to them would be good too
well is nick going to put it on the site cuz I was thinking of making a website just for the resources so it would have stick reviews pick your stick and a trick database
putting a chat in is a horrible idea it defeats the purpose of the forums and a group discussion, when we add a chat people are just going to ask a certain person a question and there will not be much of a community discussion anymore
Maybe an idea: A 'like' button, or a 'thank' button. So when you see a post and you think it has very usefull information or you think the person is totally right. Then you don't need to post something telling that what you think about his post. But just click the 'like/thank' butten. Just like facebook ;)

commenting is better
what? :D :)
He means that the reply system is better, instead of opening a new page each time.
ya and zach great new tricks to land
what?
haha
About time it goes up! haha. I like it.
We need signatures. And recipies.

I think my favorite part about the website is your new avatar, Nick.
So... Word filters? :D
Word filters! yes
also we need to have profiles other users can view, just like any forum. When we click on someones name it should bring us there.
Yup, but also a chat!! that would be so important
agreed
I also think that it needs the resource page back or at leat a trick database I would Be Happy to work on it for you : )
Yeah, I agree. A trick database would be helpful.
I salute the new site Nick, good job. I could see myself "hangin" around here for a while.

Why not allow only moderators to post in Trick Database? That will keep it clean, yet up to date.
User Profiles are a must, but we can be patient :)

Honestly I don't really see a need for a chat. We have the forums to talk. That is just my opinion though. If one is put in, I will use it.
The only thing that I liked from your reasoning, the Trick Database, instant messaging is not needed, engage the most important. When I started to jump Trick Database I really did not have enough! =)
I'm not sure we have enough people always on the forums to support a chat feature.

I think the trick database is a great idea. Also for the new and upcoming pogo'ers!
And then it would be cool to have for each trick there exists a small tutorial vid. So it's more easy to learn it :)
Like I said, A trick database would be cool, but I really don't see the use in a chat. I feel like it would hardly get used.
So what are we waiting, we must act!

Exactly Dalton. I think the chat would make the forums obsolete.
that could be true :/
