Pogopalooza 8 - Article

This year, we're comin' in hot. (Jumpers - don't miss the text at the bottom of the page!)

The Pogopalooza Production Team has been hard at work since August, 2010 planning Pogopalooza 8.

From the beginning we wanted to make sure that three key areas were improved upon (1) Better Competition Management (2) Better Lodging/Transportation for Jumpers and (3) More Jumper Hang-Out Time.  Beyond the media, and the fans, and the dizzying logistics, Pogopalooza is ultimately about jumpers meeting one another, supporting one another, and progressing the sport of extreme pogo by laying down everything they have on the competition arena.  We wanted to ensure that these fundamental aspects of Pogopalooza were better nurtured, and we believe we've created an event that will do just that.

This year, Pogopalooza 8 will be much more jumper-focused, but we haven't been slacking on other event elements.  As an official part of the OC Fair, Pogopalooza 8 will occur in the midst of 180,000 fair-goers over the course of three days.  We have secured the famed Action Sports Arena - a 7,000-seat arena - as the competition site and are building the best competition park to date.

A full information packet will be released shortly - but the condensed Pogopalooza 8 info is:

Pogopalooza 8 will be held from July 28th - July 30th, 2011 at the OC Fair in Costa Mesa, CA.

POGO PARK

This year we are constructing - from scratch - the best Pogopalooza pogo park to date.  We are laying a 2,400 SF concrete slab and building a wide assortment of park elements on top, including the classic Throne, grind rails, numerous unique obstacles, and of course the Xpogo Van.  If you have any ideas for park elements, send us an email

HOUSING

This year, we are excited to offer FREE HOUSING to all jumpers in hotel rooms near the OC Fair with NO overcrowding of rooms (4 jumpers max per room).

In order to be guaranteed free housing, jumpers must send confirmation of their purchased plane ticket or driving travel plans to NickRyan@Xpogo.org by no later than July 1st, 2011
