Pogopalooza IV Documentary Proposal
By Tim Romero
The sport of Xpogo has come a long way since its beginnings. It's gone from a dirty dozen to well over 100 people that participate in one way or another. With this rapid progression of the sport, I believe the coverage and documentation of the sport should start to progress with it. The videos of our Xpogo community members are making definitely help to cover and show where the sport is going, and how momentous it all is.
I've recently come up with an idea to build up Xpogo's credibility among other extreme sports. I am planning to make a documentary of pogopalooza and the summer events leading up to it. Before the actual event takes place, I want to travel to as many different parts of the country and document pogoers in their home towns, ask them questions, film them bouncing, and take some nice photographs while I'm at it. After acquiring this footage, I plan to heavily document the actual week of Pogopalooza while
interviewing pogoers and company representatives alike. And getting all of this footage and material, I am hoping to make the first real full length video for Xpogo, and form a website for the actual event of Pogopalooza. If this idea of mine actually happens, I
think it can push the Xpogo community to places none of us have dreamt of.
This is the part where I ask for help from anyone and everyone who reads this article. I need more ideas for this documentary. I need places to go and stay with pogoers. I need ideas for interview questions. I need ideas for segments within the documentary. I need ideas that I haven't though of that you think would work out for this video. I want this whole thing to be a collaborative effort within the Xpogo community. I want everyone to have a hand in the making of this video.
Also, we are looking to get ideas from everyone on events we should hold at Pogopalooza. We want to know how you think the event should go, and what we should be doing there.
Please send me your ideas, or any improvements on my ideas you might have. I want to know what everyone thinks so I can make this as closely tied with all our members as I can.
